STACIE LABRUNE

Stacie Labrune MA CCC-SLP/Endoscopist Stacie earned her Master’s Degree in 2002 from Wayne State University and has over 18 years of speech-language pathology experience. For over 11 years, Stacie has been focused on working with patients who have Dysphagia. Her dysphagia experience includes medically complex patients with swallowing impairments complicated by multiple intubations and extubations, ventilator support, tracheostomy status, Passy Muir Valves, vocal cord dysfunction, extensive NPO status with NGT or PEG placements and oropharyngeal weakness with cognitive barriers.

Stacie’s passion for FEES stemmed from her work in a Long Term Acute Care Hospital with Ventilator and Tracheostomy patients as she experienced barriers to providing instrumentation that looks at the structures of the larynx post extubation and tracheostomy status. She understood that the MBSS had limitations to the amount of information it could give with this population and she pursued her passion to provide the best quality of care to her patients and to simplify the delivery of instrumentation to patients in need. She is excited to provide another tool for you to help determine your patient’s safest and least restrictive diet and she looks forward to meeting you and assisting you with your client’s swallowing needs!
